Leonard Cohen’s World Tour
At his induction to the American Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on 10 March 2008, multi-award winning Canadian singer, songwriter, poet and novelist, Leonard Cohen released details of his 2008 world tour – his first in more than fifteen years. Many of the world tour venues were sold out within days of tickets being released, indicating that appreciative fans are waiting in keen anticipation for this talented and enduring artist to be in, or near, their home town.
Pink Floyd and Renee Fleming Awarded Polar Prize
The legendary progressive rock group Pink Floyd needs little introduction. This inspiring British music group has been wowing fans with their music since the late 1960s. Pink Floyd is known for innovative cover art, elaborate live shows, sonic experimentation and philosophical lyrics. Over the course of their career they became one of the most successful rock acts ever and have sold more than 200 million albums worldwide.
First Sunset Strip Music Festival
If you live anywhere in California, you have likely already experienced the legendary Sunset Strip for yourself. This 1.3 mile stretch of Sunset Boulevard is known for its great night clubs, rock clubs and restaurants – all of which are in walking distance of each other. It was here that the clubs gave birth to a memorable musical revolution that made the Strip legendary. Today cutting-edge musical talents are still on display in the clubs that make up Sunset Strip.
Black Horse Music Festival
Though relatively small, the Black Horse Music Festival is legendary. Each year during the bank holiday in the month of May, the little hamlet of Telham comes alive as thousands of people stream to the Black Horse Inn to make the most of this great annual event. This year will be no different and festival goers can expect to join in on all the fun and excitement from May 23 to 26.
43rd Annual ACM Awards
Each year thousands of country musicians gather together for one of the most celebrated country music events of the year: The Annual ACM Awards. This year’s award ceremony marked the 43rd time that this event had taken place since its inception in 1965. The glamorous event was certainly one to remember.
