Receiving the Mercury Prize is no small achievement. The prize is awarded to the musicians who produce the best album in the UK and Ireland, and so has a massive bearing on a musician’s status in the industry. Understandably then, there has been a lot of excitement surrounding the release of this year’s nominees for this prestigious award.

Lustra are due to make their first UK live performances in August, and tickets are selling fast. This group of talented young alternative rock musicians – Chris Baird on bass and vocals, Nick Cloutman on guitar and vocals, Travis Lee on lead guitar and Manny the Heavenly Love Manual on drums – are possibly best known for their song “Scotty Doesn’t Know”, which featured in the movie Eurotrip, with Matt Damon lip synching as the lead singer. But, as UK audiences will discover, this is most certainly not where Lustra’s talents end.

Fans of the Gym Class Heroes living in the UK will be excited to learn that their favorite band will be heading to the UK for a massive tour of the country in September. The group, recorded by Decaydance/Fueled By Ramen, already have a massive following world-wide, so they will no doubt enjoy quite a large following as they zip around the country playing a series of headline gigs.
