U2 – One of the Most Successful Bands Ever
U2 is a popular rock band that has seen much success since it first began in the mid-1980s. U2 was formed in Dublin, Ireland and is made up of four band members. Bono (Paul Hewson) plays guitar and is the lead vocals in the band, Adam Clayton plays bass guitar, The Edge (Dave Evans) plays keyboards, guitar and does vocals and Larry Mullen Jr. plays percussion and drums.
Madonna – Icon of the 20th and 21st Centuries
There are very few people alive today who have not heard of the pop artist commonly called ‘Madonna’. In the 2000 Guinness World Records book, Madonna is listed as being ‘the most successful female recording artist of all time’. At the time of publishing she had enjoyed the worldwide sale of approximately 120 million albums. Just five years later that figure had reached 200 million albums.
Simply Red – A Successful Band of the 1980s and Beyond
Mick Hucknall and manager Elliot Rashman formed Simply Red, an English pop band, in 1985. In previous years Mick Hucknall had been involved with a punk group called “The Frantic Elevators”, but after limited success the group split up just 7 years after coming together.
Lollapalooza
The Lollaplooza Music Festival was first organized in 1991 by Perry Farrell, a singer for the band 'Jane's Addiction'. The festival continued to play annually until 1997 when it started to slow down. It was only in 2003 that the Lollaplooza Festival was later revived.
